More Quotes from Evolution:What About God by PBS

Evolution Part 2 Quote chapter 6

"What about us? Our bodies are built from the same genes that build all other animals, yet, we are different. No other animal designs or creates like we do. We seem so special, it's hard not to think that we're somehow an exception to evolution...but of course we're not. The transformation that led to us was no different from other transformations."

This is really sad. This is the ultimate goal of the humanist. That is to take away from God what is truly His...the glory as Creator.

Movie Notes: Inherit the Wind - Year 1960

Movie Notes: Inherit the Wind-1960

Opened with song: Give Me That Old Time Religion

Shows Mr. Cates teaching Darwinian Evolution. No background given yet on the teacher.

Shows those who believe in Biblical creation:

as turning their eyes on progress
"Heavenly Hillsboro-A Return to Middle Ages" on Newspaper
"Does it have a hole in its head or its head in a hole?"

Banker "My friends, as you all know I deal with figures; accounts, checks, balances. My bank operates on the principle of practicle reality and so do I. Are you aware my friends that the great, big universities throughout the country will consider student applicants from our state ineligible because of this law? Now I don't know whose idea it was to hang a shingle on Hillsboro spelling horse and buggy. But as for me I wont invest in antiquity. I want my bank holding credit with New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and I may want my son to go to Yale. Now I believe in just about anyone in this room a basic fundamentalist interpretation of the Bible but we can't close our eyes to all progress (emphasis on "all").

they are seen as ignorant

Preachers daughter is in love with the teacher

"Rachel, I'm not trying to prove anything. All I want to do is teach my students that man was planted here like a geranium in a flower pot. That life comes from a long (..) that just didn't take seven days. " Burt

Old Time Religion sung again this time not by soloist but by the town in a parade.

The preacher is shown as a religious nut who won't listen to his daughter.

Only those who believe in evolution actually think.

Mr Cates (teacher) is continued to be shown as if he was always under this position. In reality he was a substitute teacher who actually taught gym.

The crowd is seen as unruly and hostile.

picket sign with pic of monkey and words, " I'm not one"

They said that Mr. Cates did this all on his own and that they are there just to help him receive justice. In reality, It was a plot from the beginning.

Science is seen pitted against the Bible.

They have Brady, the prosecuting lawyer say, "Sex is the original sin."

They call the book of Genesis, poetry. In reality it is written in historical narative.

They show in this movie that to not allow evolution to be taught that people are not being allowed to think. This is exactly what evolutionists are now doing to qualified scientists who believe in Biblical Creation.

Irreducible Complexity

from Michael Behe's book "Darwin's Black Box"

Here is a quote from Charles Darwin which is what Behe used to open up the section on irreducible complex systems.

"If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not
possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my
theory would absolutely break down."

Michael Behe defines it as "a single system composed of several well-matched, interacting parts that contribute to the basic function, wherein the removal of any one of the parts causes the system to effectively cease function."

He goes on to say that this type of system cannot be produced directly by small modifications, "because any precursor to an irreducibly complex system that is missing a part is by definition nonfunctional."
