"Chimps are not like humans"

In the article Chimps are not Like Humans Whole-chromosome comparison reveals much greater genetic differences than expected, The Scientist , May 27, 2004 by Cathy Holding, a comparison of chimps and humans whole-chromosome is given.

New data, first released in the same weeks edition of Nature, is reported that 83% of chimpanzee chromosome 22 proteins are different from their "human counterparts."

"The difference is 'much more complicated that we initially imagined or speculated,' Yoshiyuki Sakaki told The Scientist. '" Sakaki is director of the RIKEN Genomic Sciences Center in Yokohama City, Japan.

Sakaki said their group completed the human chromosome 21 sequence around three years ago. Differences found are when comparing the chimpanzee chromosome 22 with the human chromosome 21. These two chromosomes are thought to have an ortholog** relationship.

'So if we analyze this [chimpanzee] chromosome, we can estimate the overall events that have taken place,' Sakaki tells The Scientist. Interesting here the words "we can estimate"; watch as people will drop these words and start using this as empirical evidence for evolution.
(I added bold emphasis on the above quote)
The team sequenced bacterial artificial chromosome genomic DNA libraries
from male chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) and aligned chimpanzee chromosome 22
(PTR22) clones with the orthologous human chromosome 21 HSA21q data using NCBI
BLAST2 to make a whole-chromosome comparison. Sakaki said their analysis found
about 68,000 insertions or deletions. 'That is almost one insertion/deletion
every 470 bases,' he said. In addition, a small proportion of genes showed a
relatively higher rate of evolution than most other genes. 'We haven't known
what proportion of the genes shows adap"
I believe they researchers are going to start to find more and more differences between chimps (and apes) and humans. But even if they found similarites, does this mean that we are from common descent? No, what it would mean is that we are from a common designer.

Once again, a persons base beliefs are going to govern how they interpret the evidence they see. An evolutionist says that everything evolved from a common ancestor. Therefore, he will look at the above data and try to form the results based on their belief system.

Of course in all honosty, creationists do the same thing. A creationist says that God created all things and used the same blue prints ( for example - hands of humans look similar to that of a chimps). Therefore, she will look at the above data and try to form the results based on their belief system.

Let's keep an out on these studies and see how they progress.

Build a Website and Support GodCreatedThat.com

Hi Folks,

I have set up a business to help raise funds for GodCreatedThat.com. Our desire is to go into full time service. To do this we will need to raise enough money where I don't have to work for another company but our own.

If you have been thinking about building a website but are not sure how to do it here are the first two steps.

  1. Figure out what name you want to have then purchase that name. Click on this link: http://www.marshwiggle.biz/ Then enter your desired name in the appropriate field to see if it is available. If it is available then you can purchase it for a minimum of one year or up to ten years. There are increasing discounts the more years you purchase.
  2. Then if you desire you can use the "Website Tonight" where pricing is as low as $5 a month for a 5 page website.

Everything is done via your web browser. Click on this link:

    WebSite Tonite

Remember, Marshwiggle Website Services is set up to help raise support for GodCreatedThat.com Ministry

Watch Your Attitude-What is Your Primary Mission?

This is in Reference to an Article From www.Darwinsdemise.com
Evidence Against Evolution By Nicholas Comninellis, MD

In the article, Watch Your Attitude, the author gives some great tips on a creationists interaction with evolutionists. The authors thoughts are in quotes.

  1. "Be very clear about what you wish to accomplish." Sometimes we get so caught up in the facts and debates that we easily forget that not only are we trying to communicate the truths of our Creator but we desire for evolutionists to have a relationship with their Creator as well.
  2. Attitude is essential. Our objective is to ultimately point people toward Jesus - not simply to win an argument." We need to how we are presenting ourselves to our listeners. They can tell if there is a genuine kindness towards them or not. "If they believe its the latter, they will often dismiss the speaker - in spite of his or her skill. For this reason, Peter reminds us: "

"But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence" (I Peter 3:15)
  3. "Gentleness and reverence is particularly essential, for some people's strongest passions are kindled through debates over creation and evolution. By maintaining a content, honest, and caring attitude - in spite of others arguments and accusations - you will earn respect and credibility. "

Dr. Nicholas Comninellis, the author of the referenced article, does well to remind us of these things. More then that, I think he has done a great service.

We are not hunters out for "the kill" but hopefully we are children of the living God, the Creator of the universe, who seek to present the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. For it is He alone who can save them from their sin, shame, and spiritual bankruptcy.

Blessings,
