Messing Around With Evolution
In light of Earth Day I submit this:
This past winter I was reading through an old issue of National Geographic with the main topic on earth's diversity. Joel Swerdlow says in the opening of his article entitled, "Biodiversity" with the statement,
"Humans Have begun to grasp the staggering variety and value of life on Earth just as we push many species toward extinction. How will we save them?" from National Geographic, February 1999
To the evolutionist I ask why should we save them? Why mess with evolution. Evolution says the strong survives and the weak dies. So let them. That is what evolution does. Let the natural changes occur on this earth as they happen.
Some would say that we are the cause of the demise of so many species but according to evolution that is ok. The human race is part of the earth's evolution and ecosystem so who cares if the spotted owl dies out? We are just watching evolution at work. The strong human race surpasses over the weak owl.
I do not hold to this form of belief but believe that we have a duty to take care of all of God's creatures great and small. This belief of mine is based on my Christian beliefs that God has commanded us to tend to his creation.
This week people are celebrating Earth Day all over the world, yet most of those who wish to take proper care of this great biodiversity on earth believe evolution is the answer to our origins. If one thinks it through logically, these are conflicting beliefs.
The evolutionist must borrow from the creationist...the Christian belief that we are to take care of God's creation, just as he commanded Adam in the Garden of Eden.
